Who we are
Originally established in 2003, ElkanStaal Engineering (Pty) Ltd entered the industry with the goal of delivering cost-effective turnkey design, fabrication, installation, and construction solutions to clients across South Africa. This objective was further solidified in 2019, when the company was recreated as ElkanStaal (Pty) Ltd, with more than 20 years’ experience in the fields of structural engineering, design, fabrication, and on-site installation.
Our name may have changed but our mission is still the same – to ensure that we fulfil every one of our clients’ unique and specific needs. From development to delivery, every member of our team is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, and our commitment to developing our people and building trustworthy relationships with our clients is every bit as strong. To this end, we pride ourselves on our flexibility, and our ability to align our business with the key objectives of our clients – disciplined financial management, continuous performance improvement, and integrated technology enablement.

The very nature of engineering has a significant social impact, helping to literally build communities from the ground up. As such, ElkanStaal is committed to developing a corporate responsibility policy that ensures that every community in which it works benefits from its actions. In helping to improve economic, social, and environmental well-being for all, ElkanStaal undertakes to regularly review its policies to ensure that they are in line with current legislation and best practice.
With this in mind, ElkanStaal’s key CSR and B-BEEE focus areas will be:
- Sponsorship of deserving, underprivileged school learners
- Involvement in community awareness campaigns
- General social interaction with communities to explain the firm’s objectives with regards to any projects that may currently be underway
